As part of their certification to medical electrical equipment standards, Joovv devices are evaluated for electrical safety, reliability, and usability in non-clinical settings where trained medical staff may not be present. This includes testing aligned with IEC 60601-1-11 requirements for home healthcare environments. This approach helps ensure that Joovv devices are suitable for safe use in homes as well as professional and commercial environments when used as directed.

Independent testing and certification means that a device has been evaluated by a Nationally Recognized Test Laboratory (NRTL) against established safety and performance standards, rather than being self-assessed or measured against a single parameter. In Joovv’s case, this involves Intertek testing and certifying devices to recognized medical electrical equipment standards, such as the IEC 60601 series. These evaluations examine the complete device system, including electrical safety under normal and fault conditions, electromagnetic compatibility, usability, labeling, and photobiological risk. This type of certification differs fundamentally from one-off measurements or internal testing, as it confirms that the entire product meets defined medical device safety requirements.
