What is something you enjoy that most people would be surprised to learn?
Cooking. Just kidding! :)
You always look so comfortable on TV. It seems like it comes natural to you. I'm trying to instill good communication skills with my two teenagers. What 1-2 things would you tell them?
I feel very comfortable talking in front of a camera or an audience when I’m talking about topics I’m passionate about and know well. When I do beauty trend segments on TV, I’m knowledgeable about my content and authentic. I’d advise people to practice storytelling. It’s an amazing skill that makes public speaking more comfortable. Also, be authentic.
What’s the best thing you bought in 2016 for less than $1k?
My new kitten! We adopted him from a humane society, but his fees were $150. He’s brought so much joy into my life and I love helping animals.
I absolutely love your product reviews, especially the ones that involve skincare. What's your go-to nightly routine for optimal skin health?
When it comes to writing about beauty, skincare is my favorite topic - because it’s always so innovative. Nightly, I always rotate between using glycolic acid and retinol to keep my skin clear and to fight fine lines and wrinkles. I also love adding face oil into my moisturizer at nighttime for an added hydration boost.
If I opened up your fridge right now, what would I see?
Not much. I’m lucky to live in Hoboken where the organic market is only a block away, so I tend to grab what I need for meals as needed. However, I always have almond milk for my morning smoothies, hummus and carrots for snacking, and gluten-free bread.
Have you ever used red light therapy? If so, what type of results did you see?
Yes, I’ve gotten facials before where red light therapy was added for its anti-aging benefits. I think it’s great, but has to be done consistently to make a difference.
You've been to some of the best spas across the world. If cost isn't a factor, which one would you recommend? On the flip side, what's your favorite spot on a budget?
My all-time favorite spa is Aire Baths in NYC. It’s magical. I go with my husband to use the different pools and get massages. As far as a budget spa, I like getting facials at Mario Badescu. They’re effective without breaking the bank. Check out my blog post for more details.
What person(s) of influence are you closely following right now?
I’ve been following the work of Gabby Bernstein for quite some time and really admire her message and how she communicates it to the masses. She’s a true inspiration.
If you could put a billboard anywhere, what would it say and where would you put it?
“Love is always the answer.” I would put it on every billboard across the world!
