If I opened up your fridge right now, what would I see?
Almond milk, grass-fed greek yogurt, eggs, gluten-free bread, kale, protein balls, and leftovers
Other than the great pay (haha!), what do you miss most about being an elementary school teacher?
I actually don’t miss being an elementary school teacher. I feel like I’m still a teacher, my audience is just different. However, there was something magical and special about having a kid smile at you, hug you, or just let you know what an impact you made in their day.
Your skin always looks flawless! Can you share 3-4 tips you use to keep it looking that way?
It’s so funny that people ask about my skin routine, because I literally don’t have one! My keys to flawless skin are working out, drinking a lot of water, and having make-up free days from time to time. Besides that, I do use Simple Makeup wipes at night, and wash my face with the Beauty Counter Charcoal Bar in the shower.
It's probably like asking who's your favorite child, but I'll ask anyway. What's your favorite Beachbody program?
INSANITY will always hold a special place in my heart. It is on the set of the INSANITY infomercial that my friendship with Shaun T began, as well as my first encounter with my husband, Darren. Also, I am the format expert for INSANITY LIVE, so I am constantly creating the programming for this brand that is taught in gyms worldwide. Soo yes, INSANITY is my baby!
Have you ever used red light therapy? If so, what type of results did you experience?
No, I have not! To be honest, I do not know much about it, but would totally be interested in trying it. I am always down to try new things and exploring optimal ways of living and being healthier.
Do you have a morning routine? If so, what are a few things you try to squeeze in to make the most of your days?
Yes, I do! After reading the Miracle Morning, I felt it was super important to start my day out with a purpose. When I wake up, I'm usually super thirsty, so the first thing I do is down an entire bottle of water. I then read for 10-15 minutes so that I can get my brain flowing with positive information. Then, I check my calendar and my to-do list to make sure I am aligned with what I need to do for the day. After that, I always try to get my workout in so that I have endorphins flowing through my body to energize me throughout the day.
What person(s) of influence are you closely following right now?
I am working closely with Lewis Howes this year. I really resonate with his style and his work ethic, so my husband dedicated an entire year to working with him to expand our reach and our impact.
Starting over at 18, knowing everything you know now, what 1-2 things would you tell yourself?
First of all, I would tell myself to make better financial decisions and to stay away from credit cards. I spent the better part of my life repairing my credit and paying interest rates to creditors for poor financial decisions I made when I was younger. Also, I would tell myself to DREAM BIG. I do that now, but I wish I would have instilled that in my life earlier on. Imagine how far I would be if I had dreamt big from the start.
What is something you enjoy that most people would be surprised to learn?
Most people don’t realize that I am extremely introverted. I love to be on stage and presenting to large audiences, but in my down time, my favorite thing to do is to be in a quiet room with my husband, kids, and cat watching a movie or TV show. Outside of being a “hermit”, I also love Karaoke. I give a mean performance to Guns and Roses - Welcome to the Jungle.
If you could put a billboard anywhere, what would it say and where would you put it?
In the middle of Times Square, and it would say YOU FIRST. So often we put ourselves last, and we forget to realize that when we do put ourselves first, we are actually better serving those around us. We are better wives, mothers, friends, etc.
